some things never change
It's true that some things never change. The magical world is falling apart all
over again, and this time there is no Chosen One to save it. Many ordinary, seemingly
unassuming magical citizens have taken it upon themselves to turn against those this
generation deems 'unworthy' - vampires, werewolves, half-breeds, and the like. It hasn't
come to the level of an extermination yet, though many half-breeds and creatures have
been enslaved, thought of as little more than pets.
Such things can only go on for so long, however, before the situation reaches a breaking
point. Once upon a time being muggleborn meant you were 'fair game' to be preyed upon by
those of arguably more fortunate circumstances. Half-breeds and creatures alike today find
themselves in a similar situation, with little means to fight back or to stand up for themselves.
Certain individuals sympathize with them and aid when they can, but most dare not do so
publicly.
For the time being, magical citizens maintain a delicate balance, working toward their own
ends as efficiently and quietly as they can. Thus far the losers in all of this have been the
enslaved and the downtrodden, though even now many hope to rise up and destroy their
oppressors at the first opportunity that presents itself. Some are lucky, but many are not. Is
the Ministry well on its way to creating a monster, or will they see the light? Only time will
tell.
